My name is Vikki Gray and I
... purchased an old autograph book at an antique store in Denver
that belonged to Grace Butler. It was signed by a variety of people,
similar to how we used to sign class yearbooks - only in a more poetic
fashion. Anyway, many of these people who
signed it were from Lynn, Massachusetts. I have transcribed it and
would like to send it to you if you think it is worth posting. Most
of the signatures were made between 1879-1883.

To Gracie: Better to
weave in the web of life, At bright and golden filling, And do God’s
will with a ready hand, And feet that are swift and willing, Than to
snap the delicate slender threads, Of our curious lives asunder, And
then blame heaven for the tangled ???, And sit and grieve and
wonder, With many good wishes |

Email sent Sun 1/31/10 Shaun, I know that the Louisa
Furness is wife of Edwin Furness and her maiden name is Lousia Graves,
daughter of Nathaniel and Louisa Emery Graves. From that
point, a lot of the people in the book are identifiable (and in my
great Grandmother's Address book, but she was from Shoup,
Idaho); the Aunt Sophia, is the aunt of my Great Grandmother was
married to Richard Realf, the famous abolitionist -- Sophia Emery
Graves That's a big deal. The Furness' were the founders
of Furnessville. You have a treasure there,To see it scanned and
in public domain to see before someone owns it as a collectible would
be great. I can get some help finding out which child Gracie came
from, access to that branch of the family. Nora
